I was talking to someone today who hasn’t watched wrestling in a while and when I told him that Flair and Hogan were still around he looked shocked and disgusted, haha. Anyway.
I like Josh Matthews. He has a really cool tattoo on one arm. King really does have an injury though, JR said that it’s an infection and he’s on IV antibiotics but he’ll be okay. Wishing him a speedy recovery, he’s awesome.
A scroll! Ha. No stereotypes there or anything. Also I kind of forgot to pay attention during all that, but I got the general idea (I could have on mute, though).
When they said the Divas had some soccer thing going on, I was expecting some really stupid pointless segment. I was pleasantly surprised to see an actual MATCH. It was actually a pretty good one, too.
Nice, a Hart Dynasty/Uso match! It was a good one.
You know, I bet WWE likes this. They can easily pass off the “Cena sucks” chants as him being in Nexus, so their ‘biggest star’ still appears as such. Works out quite well, and I can’t say for sure that was an accident.
Santino and Kozlov in those outfits…they are nothing if not entertaining. Sheamus kind of seemed like he was actually having a good time.
Ugh this main event. I just…man, I don’t know. I like Orton, and I like Barrett. I just can’t handle this repetitiveness every week, especially when they act like it is all such a big deal. These matches obviously won’t resolve anything. OH CENA AS REF. Shocking. I was really freaking confused when Truth’s music started actually until I remembered they’re giving Orton a one-night stable or something. I have no emotional investment in this (which is kind of a problem, they should not make me hate their product!). This is actually an issue. Even when Slater, one of my favorites, was in the ring (with Daniel Bryan!) I wasn’t paying much attention.
The Otunga storyline is at least one that I’m not sure how it will end up. I’m interested for now. I know we’re supposed to hate Wade Barrett but I feel like they’re just making it so he’s an ass, and he doesn’t get to really be GOOD at a gimmick; he’s just making stupid demands. If that makes any sense.

I thought the Santino/Kozlov segment was entertaining. I wasn’t overwhelmed by it though. Everything else that happened on the show was pretty boring.
So I though of this today and I wanted to get your take on it: Isn’t R-Truth basically the same gimmick as K-Kwik (Remember him?) ten years ago? At the time I was 14 and I was tolerable of K-Kwik when he was in the tag team with Road Dogg. Now I am much older and it wouldn’t work now. I just find R-Truth a more annoying version of K-Kwik. That gimmick is not cool. Haha.
Ugh. I am just burnt out from wrestling. This is why they need an offseason. As I get older, I get less tolerable for bad acting/wrestling. I am already counting down the days until the Royal Rumble.

Santino and Kozlov had me on the floor laughing. They actually kinda of reminded me of Gene Wilder and Peter Boyle in Young Frankenstein, when they came out on stage to sing “Puttin on the Ritz”. Santino has become a real guilty pleasure for me. And “Sheamoose” played his role perfectly. I was really into that segment.
The Nexus angle….NEEDS TO DIE! Split them up, have them be either heels or faces, get them into storylines and fueds, but break them up. They just don’t have credibility as a stable.
And creative needs to do something with Mizanin and his briefcase. Have him cash it in (and, of course, lose) or lose it in a match with someone. Just get that goddamn case out his hands. What are they waiting for?
The rest of the show was just meh. Miz turns his team and gives Orton a skull crushing finale? Yawn. If they insist on ramming Mizanin down my throat, at least make him a little less predictable.

JR has updated us and says Jerry Lawler has a staph infection. Major bummer, hope he is okay and back soon.
Fro, funny you should say that…I don’t really remember K-Kwik but, um, that IS R-Truth. Same person. I wish I was kidding. But it’s also pretty brilliant of WWE since people do seem to like him. Again.
Chucky, I’m a little annoyed with the briefcase as well (or maybe just Miz, hard to say).

I just checked R-Truth’s Wikipedia page.
You have to be f’n kidding me. No wonder it was so damn familiar.
This is what happens when you have been a wrestling fan for too long. Unfortunately, it’s too late me for to quit. But seriously. Where else are you going to go pay $30 and be guaranteed a few hours of fun? As bad as wrestling is, it is a wrestling event. Bears games, Blackhawk games and Bulls games are fun but only if they win. With WWE, you always win when you go there. Good wrestling or bad.

Have you guys heard the latest rumored to be inducted into the WWE hall of Fame for 2011?
J.J. Dillon.
I like the selection, and I hope he accepts it. But there is a fly in the ointment here. It would as a part of the Four Horsemen.
On the surface, I like the idea of the Horsemen being inducted, but the problem with it is this: It would mean Ric Flair would be inducted twice. What if he’s still in TNA? I guess it would happen if Flair left TNA.
The second problem is do they include ALL of the Horsemen? That would include Chris Benoit. And his name has been turned into an absolute gutter vulgarity. Nobody is even allowed to mention his name anymore. They leave him off every DVD they make now. I just don’t see how you leave anybody off that list. A list that includes:
Ric Flair. Already in the HoF.
Arn Anderson. Put him in. He deserves it.
Ole Anderson. He deserves it too, but he has had major issues with WWE for years. You’ll notice that other than matches and promos there is nothing him in the Horsemen. I think there still must be problems. That’s why Bruno isn’t in. He hates the WWE product, and said many times he’d never go in. Does Ole feel the same way?
Tully Blanchard. Another deserving candidate. I’m not aware of any issues between him and WWE, so could go in.
Barry Windham. No explanation needed. Put him in.
Lex Luger. Already rumored to be inducted in his own right.
Sting. Also rumored, depends on his TNA status.
Sid Vicious. Iffy choice, especially with how Flair cut him to ribbons on the Horsemen DVD.
Paul Roma. BWAHAHAHA!!! Next.
Brian Pillman. Maybe. He was good, but does he qualify. If I have to ask, then no he doesn’t. But I loved the Loose Cannon gimmick.
Chris Benoit. Won’t happen. No sense even talking about it. Next.
Dean Malenko. What did he do other than the Horsemen. Read Pillman, Brian. I liked him in the Horsemen, and his fued with Jericho in WCW was great, but Hof material?
Steve McMichael. Great football player, Shitty wrestler. The answer is no.
Who do you induct, and who do you leave off the list? And there’s a long list of associated members. Do you include them? I’d say no. Do you think Kendall Windham belong?
There’s also a rumor that his royal highness will going in too.
Bill Goldberg. HELL NO!!!!!
Also on the short list is Ron Simmons, the Road Warriors and the Steiner Brothers.
Simmons is a OK selection.
The Road Warriors. Why the Road Warriors aren’t in yet is a mystery.
The Steiner Brothers. I’d LOVE to see Scott Steiner up there, in chain link head gear and talk about how he “pushes switches on bitches till they call him the daddy!”. THAT would be epic.
I just thought that this would be an interesting topic to talk about. What do guys think?
November 10, 2010 at 10:27 PM
Wow, that was longer than I thought. Sorry about that.
November 13, 2010 at 1:41 AM
Chucky,
A lot of those guys deserve to go. Malenko is a toss-up. Scott Steiner can fuck off. I always hated the guy and it didn’t help that he was a steroid freak (They all were during that time but you really noticed it on this turd). The other guys you discuss like Blanchard, Roma, Windham and Anderson, well they were before my time so I didn’t get a chance to see those guys.
Wasn’t Simmons the first black wrestler to win a world title? That was a major step in the business. He should go in the hall in my opinion.
Benoit isn’t going on. You are right when you say they don’t want anything to do with him.
November 13, 2010 at 1:35 PM
Yeah, Simmons was first. Ar least that how was billed. It was during the Bill Watts administration, when he was trying to prove he wasn’t a racist. I do think he was a really good wrestler. DAMN!!!
Tully Blanchard was an absolute master at getting you pissed at him. Excellent wrestler as well. He had legendary fueds with Dusty Rhodes and Magnum T.A. Watch the “I Quit” cage match. An absolute bloodbath. Awesome. He deserves to go. Windham was awesome as well, face or heel. Arn Anderson was a absolute professional. One of the best in the ring, and maybe the best talker…ever. That is really saying something. Paul Roma was a joke. Look up some old WWF footage of the Young Stallions. THEY FUCKING SUCKED DONKEY BALLS.
If you really want see how to rank various members of the Horsemen, watch the DVD “Ric Flair and the Four Horsemen”. It’ll tell you everything you really need to know.
November 13, 2010 at 2:19 PM
See, I read that and though Arn Anderson was already in. Whoops.
At this point, though, I honestly have no idea who they will or will not induct. Sometimes (often) whether or not someone deserves it has no bearing. Benoit maybe someday, but I agree that certainly not yet. And they won’t talk about Flair right now too much I’d bet (who would?).
November 13, 2010 at 7:50 PM
“Sometimes (often) whether or not someone deserves it has no bearing.”
Yeah, no kidding. For proof, see Koko B. Ware.
One person I’m hoping gets in is Bruiser Brody. I’ve been voicing that for a couple of years now. He’s the ONLY guy to truly scare the hell out of me as a kid. He was a true pioneer and the real originator of hardcore brawling. And he’s the guy who inspired Mick Foley. His murder in 1988 has been a black eye on the industry ever since. Vince really should be putting him in.
